Our contribution
Since its very beginning, Costa de Almería Aquarium has been committed to collaboration with other aquariums and private and public organizations, and to strengthening the relationship with them, with the fundamental aim of raising public awareness of the values of the natural environment through education, conservation and research, which are the basic pillars of the Aquarium.
Collaboration
Oasys MiniHollywood Theme Park, University of Murcia Aqaurium, Seville Aquarium, Barcelona Aquarium, L’Oceanografic (Valencia), Sea Life (Benalmadena – Malaga), Zooaquarium (Madrid), Zaragoza Aquarium and Gijon Aquarium are among the zoos and aquariums with which we collaborate.
Exchanging animals and information is essential to improve maintenance techniques and enhance the quality of our biological collection on display.
Currently the Aquarium Costa de Almeria meets all the standards of AIZA (Iberian Association of Zoos and Aquariums) and EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquariums) to become a member of these two associations.
Currently, we are collaborating with Equinac association, which helps stranded cetaceans and turtles off the coast of Almeria and we are assisting in the rehabilitation of a turtle called Juan, which came to the Aquarium in June 2016.
